GTI Festival at Santa Pod on the 11th July is exactly what you need! :)

The best Golf's will probably do high 11 seconds. Highly modified cars though, don't expect anything near from a 'normal' GTI  ;D

Here's more details on my run's

qtr mile times (http://www.crailraceway.co.uk/select_run.asp?CarNumber=80&RunDate=20040808)

Please bear in mind that a lot of the cars I was up against were race prepped, whereas the only mods I have are a Miltek exhaust and a K&N filtercharger.

Did my 1st 1/4 last August at York Dragway (Gti hot-hatch day). Really nervous for the 1st run, but did 16.22 in pretty standard 16v so was well chuffed. What a gr8 buzz.
2nd run was timed at about 3 1/2 minutes :o  and I didn't race again that day!! (or drive home  :'()

Absoultely gr8 fun, should be doing it again this weekend in the new supercharged beast. Hopefully should improve on the time... ;D

i managed 16.002 as my fastest run at gti fest at santa pod in july, was ace fun and totally enjoyed it!!, my fastest time (above) felt like i was wheelspinnin the whole way also, the more runs i did the slippier it felt, but i chuffed with what times but with more traction i reckon i could have got mid to late 15's!!

a mate of mine had a go at this at the rwyb at santa pod at the 2003 kruisin live show, he had a cossie at the time and managed just under 11 secs, he had a race with a mk 1 escort that just blitzed anythin off the line but topped out really quick so it was losing to most things, think it was more to show the power it had

great fun tho, would love to get mine down there , but i must admit this bein my first turbo charged car it takes a bit of gettin used to

0-60 9.95 and 1/4 mile 17.50.

I was quite pleased as the only engine modds are weber and a K&N

That's not a bad time that bronze. I haven't done the 1/4 mile in mine but I was estimating about 18 secs. Take it to GTi festival this year and have a go at santa pod, the actual timing is more accurate apparently  We could have a race

I love 1/4 miles!

Not tried the Golf yet but I'll hopefully make some drag event in it this year and give it a go.

Best time I've done in the mini is around the 15sec mark. The problem is it has a short diff and 90mph is redline in top.
