Apparently the felt door seals can also squeak, as well as the rubber ones.

Some people have had success using a small amount of PTFE dry lube or Sailkote on the felt seals.

Try Krytox (VW G052172A1) for the rubber seals, it's what the manufacturers use, and should be a permanent fix.

Sailkots lasts longer than the VW special lubricant IMO. absolutely soak the felt seals every 6 months and creaking is gone. Mine was like an old galleon before someone here told me about sailkote

I fitted new wheels and tyres. In love with these Borbets and Vectors 4Seasons gen3. Rim protection on these tyres is insanely big, can easily put two, one pound coins with ease. Overall over the moon.

Could you post a close up picture showing how much the tyres stick out please?

Assuming these fit stock wheels, I might consider those tyres soon too . I bought my car with gloss black wheels so want to protect them, already done 2 minor knocks. My other option are Goodyear Eagle F1's

The garage I bought the car from put some random "Catchpower" branded tyres on the front. They seem to be fine but loose grip easily as soon as the power kicks in, in most gears

It replacing the GTI Chris. That is coming up to 3 years old now (can’t believe how time flies), and as I’m rapidly approaching 60, thought I’d go for something more grown up.

I hardly ever used the power the GTI had (motorways are too busy round my way and too many speed cameras), so quite a big step down in power (only 150ps), so I’ve gone for a R-line 150ps DSG in nightshade blue metallic. Loaded with options (as anyone who knows me won’t be surprised at) as below:

Heated Front Climate Windscreen
Inductive Smartphone Charging
Keyless Entry with Full electric tailgate operation
Panoramic Sunroof
Winter Pack including heated outer rear seats
Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC)
Rear View Camera system
IQ.Light Dynamic Light assist, dynamic indicators and dynamic taillights
Discover Pro Navigation system
Harmon Kardon premium sound system
Space and weight saving spare wheel
Tyre pressure monitoring system

Got a cracking deal on it (nearly 15% off) with service pack thrown in and cherished plate transfer for free. Also got nearly 6k collateral in the GTI as well.

It will be my first non Golf since 2006, so I think I’m due a change. 12-14 weeks estimated delivery. Looks identical to this one seen on the local dealers forecourt:
