GTI Build Dates - Anyone got one yet?

A quick call to VW UK yesterday confirmed that my GTi will finally be built next week BW32, when the factory re-opens from its Summer Break (Bumped from BW28).  She (Jane) was confident of a late August, early September delivery... Movement at last!!! September still seems a long way away

Was your order on the tracker at "confirmed for build" 6 or 7 weeks ago? If not then this could be the first case we've seen of total tracker failure (assuming your order number was ever recognised on the tracker).

Spot on!! My order went to "Confirmed for Build" around 7 Weeks ago (June 23rd to be precise).

Dealer had confirmed BW28 (ie last week before the factory was due to shut down), but it must have missed the deadline and was pushed back. Not complaining really... September delivery will coincide with new reg. Hell I've waited four months!!! What's another four weeks

I could be wrong, but the nice lady from VW said the 12 August..... And before anyone says "What 2014!"... NO!!!! This year apparently

As far as I've been told, it was brought forward a week. Thus why initial BW 28 cars were bumped to BW 32 (Monday).

BW34? That's a 5 week shutdown. It's either BW32 opening (3 week shutdown) this coming Monday, or BW33 12th August (4 week shutdown). We've had official suggestion for both 3 week and 4 week shutdowns. General concensus right now is 4 weeks, although I haven't been told my BW33 has been bumped a week (as I would expect).

Yeah I've just noticed that although the bulletin says "All models" for weeks 28 to 34!!

I wonder if thats the general time the factory is shut however only certain production lines close down within that time.
