hey,
im just wundering if it is possible to remap a Mk2 Golf GTI 8v running a K-Jet system?
ive heard alot of stuff flying around about chips and remaps.
any help would be appreciated.

Not possible on the 8v k-jet unfortunately :sad:

Just get the car set up right, and get the WUR mod done and it will be fine. Kjet is better than digi imo and they are faster.

what about chips such as bluefin or superchips?
ive heard bits about them.

Not on a k-jet, the fuel injection is all mechanical so nothing to chip :wink:
The WUR mod modifies the fuel pressure i think, not sure how effective it is on the 8v though, it's normally carried out on the 16v

Just give it a good service, plugs, leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm, then get a garage who knows about vws to set it up correctly, timing, co ect...
Unless you can do it yourself which will save you ££, there is plenty of guides on here that will show you how.

Is this for the blue F reg car in your photobucket? I'd be very surprised if that is an 8v k-jet motor

You won't gain alot, because it's not forced induction. I thin with N/A remaps you get about 5hp so not worth the price tag..however if you have a turbo different matter!

The ebay chips are sh1t, I got one to try out and leaves big flatspots especially after 5k rpm so I put the old one back in. Just set your digi up as in Rubjonnys FAQ and it will be sweet as.

My car never ran right from cold after wur mod one at stealth racing. had mk2 with 9a and kent cams with vernier pulley, flowed head, 4branch and power flow exh got it running at 186bhp bit from cold ran like a pig.
