I dont understand some people, you buy a classy car, thats not exactly cheap, then set out to completely ruin it. 
I think you probably have to approach this differently....
Something like... you buy a standard cheap (1/2 - 2/3 "our" GTI/R price) new or second hand Golf as a youngster with a particular ..uhhh..lets say different taste...and they want their car to look like this "flagship"....ahum...a few leds and a bit of paint
Golf tries to cover the broadest audience in car history...you might be amazed....anyway the Golf manages to be always in the news be it with good or bad designs.....as long as you are talked about...you advertise....
