The 7.5 had gloss black alright but in the MK8 case it appears that there will be a lot more of it and in more easily scuffed, high-touch areas, i.e. all around the gear selector and on that high "triangular" piece that runs into the main dashboard.

I'd be half tempted to retro fit it though, if it weren't a too big/awkward job!

I’ve self healing Expel PPF on the high gloss interior trim my wife’s MK7.5 PP GTI which is a fantastic job no marks no scratches on a car 30k on it
I don’t have any PPF on my High gloss Interior trim in my CSS but I’m very careful cleaning it etc and tbh it’s unmarked
So having it in a MK8 wouldn’t annoy me

That's a brilliant idea!  Does it make reflected glare from the Sun better or worse?  That's my pet hate with piano black.

Because it’s low down around the console area I’ve never really noticed
If anything I’d say any glare reflection would be reduced

What a brilliant idea. I’ll consider that on my CS when it arrives

Had a look on the configurator yesterday, it appears you can select an ED45 (Akrapovic, Scotsdale wheels and leather trim) wonder what impact this will have on the relatively special edition ED45 proper?

Also notice that the standard CS is £40,005 before options. Luxury car VED on a Golf is ludicrous another stealth tax as more and more fairly normal cars tip over £40k!!!!

How bizarre, so you can't buy a CS45 anymore but you can spec a CS up to be one?

I think we've know that would be the case for some time now... I remember someone showing an Irish sales note about the release date for the extras...

Its been listed ("Racing package") on the Irish configurator pretty much since day one, but I've never seen one in the wild. I'd be very doubtful if a car was ever spec'd with it here.

Hmm, the steering wheel already has red stitching, so its just the GTI badge on the seats.

The "high gloss" on the centre console sounds good, should help make that area of the centre console look a bit more premium (but also very scratch prone). Should be a simple retrofit too if you wanted it...

And if I read that right, lane assist / side assist will be optional rather than standard?

I've not got red stitching on my steering wheel (21 plate - May 2021)
