mmm you are defo giving me some ideas about what to do to mine as i have a alpine white mk2 but 5dr. Good work mate, love the white banded g60 wheels, didnt think white would go against white but it actually does. All the wheels on the car look awsome, ahhh cant decided which i like most :undecided: :undecided:, i am trying fooor the same look mate.
Title: Re: Mk2 golf 16v

love the bbs deep dish but EVERYONE has them...

reason the white banded steelies are off is because one is leaking!

thinking bout a diff colour when i get them sorted but the white workd so well.... but then the bbs
Title: Re: Mk2 golf 16v
Post by: Peej1981 on 27 October 2010, 20:25
yep yu defo sound like me now  difference is that you already have the wheels to choose between whilst me i am having to find some wheels to buy ready for the summer but i am not sure what i want, really like the look of your banded ones and then i also really like the ATS cup ones and love D90's. Is yours one of the last mk2's to be made? As never really seen a K reg one before?
Title: Re: Mk2 golf 16v
Post by: DrewGTI on 27 October 2010, 20:34
hey twin...

i loved ATS cups until the banded steelies....and i also have a set of D90's

it is last of the mk2's mate...only 100 odd kreg ones i believe
Title: Re: Mk2 golf 16v
Post by: Peej1981 on 27 October 2010, 20:55
Thought so, someone also told me that they only ever made the last 100 mk2's ever made in alpine white. You really know how to make a man jealous about wheels, d90's, do you have pics of them on your car???

There are a few about, some dealers stock can sit for up to two years before its sold/registered... this would be a very late one and probably came with all the trimmings in its day.

I see what you mean, It needs its arch trims putting back on.

Definitely wheels look too thin. Have to be careful making it look like a chav machine. There is a guy who has an oak green one on here which looks so nice. Lowered slightly but just oem.

But you preferred it with blue wheels and single headlights! Contradiction much!!

Just saying wheel width make it look a bit silly.  Like mentioned put arches bk on and bring wheels out like normal. Its just not my cup of tea, Each to their own I guess,
Title: Re: Mk2 golf 16v

Yes each to their own.... And everyone has there opinion of course.

Just find your comments a little insulting and very very contradicting!!

Out of all looks, the blue wheels, single headlights, white badges, smoked indicators looks I guess most 'chav' as you would say!

With its white centres and 9j rears and 8.5 fronts with arches you don't like but then in your last post insist that's how it should look?! Sorry pal but you've lost me!   :undecided:

The way it is now is much much more a classic look ie small bumpers bbs, recaro seats. And it's on air so can sit it and what ever height I feel so can lower it just a bit like the oem oak green one you mention.
