      Thank you jv,

When I got my Golf GTi 8v it had quite low miles on it (80,000) it was well looked after (Still is) and with full service history it was a bargain really.

I have a few ideas that I want to do to it.

What's Been Done-
  • Front hofele air vents
  • Drilled air box
  • Pipercross panel filter
  • Anni clocks
  • Bonnet lifter gas struts - Good at 6.99+P&P
  • Replaced rear ABS sensor
  • Bought VAG-COM
  • Smooth rear wiper arm
  • Golf GTi forum Stickers
  • New VW Centre caps
  • Coilover Suspension
  • Uprated top mounts
  • 2.5 ARB links
  • CV Boots
  • Drivers side bearing replaced
  • Camber aligned and tracking done (Tracking was out by 23.5mm out!, was done a week before at National Tyres!)
  • Drivers door sill strip had a hole, replaced
  • Front bumper replaced
  • Rear bumper replaced
  • Red GTi badge for front
  • Legal Pressed Plates
  • BMW 1 series rear wiper
  • GenuineVR6 splitter
  • New dip stick guide
  • De-locked(Rear door handles on front)
  • Red calipers
  • Hella lights2nd set
  • HIDs
  • Jetex SS System
  • Relay for HIDs
  • Front and rear bumper Anni Red strip
  • Front Black VW badge
  • Full two tone leather interor

What's To Be Done-

The wheel caps were pissing me off with the water damage. So I took a trip to the local VW garage and took a long shot at trying to get some ordered.

We couldn't find the long beach alloys on the ETKA, he took my VIN number and it came up with a part number for alloys that looked nothing like the LB alloys. Went in on Friday to be told the ones we ordered were not being manufactured but the sales guy had a "hunch" that these would fit.....they did! cheaper too and look the same.

Before

After-With a slight clean

Part Number - 6nN601171BXF
Description - CAP
List Price - 5.14
Ext Sell - 20.56

Now toying with the idea of anni rims.....want to keep the OEM look.

Hottuning Coilovers-

Well today was a good day  got ALOT done reli. Thank god for a mate with a garage and ramps.
  • Fitted coilovers
  • New drop links
  • New VR6 top mounts

I have only lowered them a slight bit as I have a week of driving ahead, Yeovil-Bournemouth-Kettering-Grantham/Corby Glen. It will be going lower when I get back.

Up she goes

Out with the old

Its off

Found a HOLE!

In with the new

It takes an age to adjust the hight!

On the ramp that patch on the rear bumper p!ssed me off

Ok hight will be going lower

Driving it home it was firm, no knocks. It handles like a kart! I love them, well worth it. They will last me a few years.

When she was up we gave her a going over, only thing we found was a split CV boot....needs done asap.

fitting the strut brace tomorrow, its for looks more than anything.

Yesterday was not a good day for me.

1 -The new ARB link came off. Don't know where and I cant feel a difference. It has baffled me as the nipple is still on there, manufacturing fault I think as it was put ion tight and properly.

2-I had a slight problem with the coilovers, I had put them on incorrectly.

Had mine like this-

Supposed to go on like this-

Sorted that and then another problem.......Too much camber! Just eaten my poor Toyos, Nice new grove in the side!

It is lower now! But no ARB link until wed!

Painted Calipers
I spent at least 3 hours making sure the calipers were clean before I put the first lick of paint on. Once they were clean I started to paint. It took at least 3 coats to make sure they looked right and took me from Friday - Monday. And the finished results are suburb.

Sorry it was a quick picture, didn't come out too well -

VR6 splitter -

BMW 1 series wiper and pressed plates -

Not happy aswell, ordered my full SS cat back twin tail pipe system from Venom and got sent the oval tail. I was hoping to get it on this weekend but didn't. Next week
