Mk4 Cant lock doors, windows come down when i attempt to lock with key

Hi,

I have a problem with my central locking.

I think it might be the component on the driver door (where the window switches are)

So i put the key in the door and and only the driver door locks 100% of the time.

But today the windows came down.

I have changed this component on the driver door, but im wondering whether theres a wiring problem there?

Any help would be great
