4motion engine doesnt sound as nice imo! I would rather a 1.8t over the 4motion, R32 or 1.8T really.

For the sake of a nice sound id rather get a 1.8T and leave some money aside to remap it (remap is a MUST if you get a 1.8T) and a full turbo back Milltek system (at least you get a nice sound, its not a V6, but still sounds nice). If you drive a sensible amount of miles you will make your money back in petrol in no time, especially the way prices are going at the moment.

Depends what your funds are like and how much disposable income you have really.

tbh the funds for the car wont be a problem as itll no doubt be going on finance as ill be trading up from my 2.0gti just the reliability that bothers me on the 1.8t, + as said ive had a turbo car but never had a v6 so thats mainly why im tempted to the v6 + a 1.8t remapped will prob cost more/the same insuarance as the stock v6 and from what ive read it seems from a reliability point of view a stock v6 over a mapped 1.8t would be the way to go

When I had my 4Mo the insurance was a lot more than the GTi 150bhp 1.8T is group 14 where as the 2.8 4Mo is group 17. I would get some quotes on insurance as it may suprise you!!

The V6 still has coilpack/sensor issues (just like an AUM!  :P  :D), but also watch out for Haldex problems.  ;)

I found it has been a little more expensive over the 1.8t running etc but im happy to pay that more which isnt breaking the bank and love the R Id say if your wanting tune get big power id say 1.8t but i will never tire of the noise that V6 makes esp with the milly
