Well in those situations you have a point, but I dont talk total bollox. Driven sensibly cars with good handling can get you out of trouble quicker.

Personally I'm not so anal about safety. As I said a 90s nissan primera weighs 200kg less than a mk4 Golf and I wouldnt be scared to drive one.

I would they are sh1te, i'd be scared and embarassed  :embarassed:

The weight will also be down to the quality of the materials such as heavier gauge steel for the internal parts, better quality of interior trim and so on. My brother has just bought a Civic Type R and though it is good to drive the quality of the fittings are no match to my Golf.

dont think safety is the main reason  , think its the material they use to make the car  . if u go back to the days the mk4 was first introduce and check the safety cap ,its not even on the top ten .if the main reason is safety it should be at least be top ten otherwise i dont see the point for them for doing it .

im sorry but this seems liek the most pointless thread ever, all its doing is making who ever started it look like a wally in the first place

to echo what has been said, its a safe car, i have had one bump in my GTi when i had it and it was as solid as a tank the escort i hit wasnt and was wrote off as they couldnt open the boot! all i had was a cracked number plate, had a bump in my saxo VTR ( washes mouth out)  and the front basically caved in! ITS SAFE AS FOOK

its a relaible car, its safe, can be tuned to have lots of fun

ther earlier comment about driving a less safe car or what ever it was, just sounded a bit dense

if you dont like your golf sell it as i dont think anyones is going to be able to give you an anwser you want?

as Rhyso said doesnt take much to do a bit of research

Never heard the word quick mentioned with a zr160

This is why weight = safe
