7.5 GTI DSG oil and filter change

When do folk recommend changing the filter and oil in terms of age and/or mileage.
I’ve only done 10k and the car is nearly 30 months old from new.

When the service interval tells you?

The car will tell you when an oil change is needed, should be on an annual cycle if you are doing low mileage.

Car will tell me based on VW’s algorithm. Having had a Discovery that had a BorgWarner 7 speed Auto box (different tech I know) that was ‘Sealed for Life’ and never appeared in the Service interval, yet BorgWarner recommended 100k mile oil and filter change I was interested in folks real life experiences?

Lots of Discovery’s were having issues at about 125k with auto boxes due to lack of maintenance.

That's interesting. I think when problems start appearing at that kind of mileage, it's a toss up as to whether something is a serviceable item or not

I might be wrong so please correct me if so but Its 40k for 6 speed and 80k for 7speed box

According to the internet:

After the synthetic/mineral debacle some VAG dealers took the view that the dry clutch 7-speed DSG needed an oil change every 40,000 miles, but the official Volkswagen line is that they don't. The 6-speed wet clutch DSG is a maintenance box and does need fresh oil and filter every 40,000 miles

So DSG6, definitely change the oil, DSG7.... probably a good idea to change the oil.

All of my DSG boxed cars have had a 40K mile interval (not years).

AFAIK all of the wet-clutch DSG boxes have a 40k interval (both 6 & 7 speed).
