Welcome doc

By "monster" do you mean that the estate is monstrously long for a hatchback?
only kidding, the GTD is a great car no matter how long it is.

It's a bit bigger, faster and better in every aspect than my old Polo.  It's being built next week as well!

Car is awesome. The in gear acceleration is amazing and love how it can do the quiet relaxed city driving as well as the sporty stuff.

The car looks great a proper sleeper and has surprised a few people, took it to a track day this week and was keeping up with a mates M3.

Downsides so far:

It’s a small niggle but the sat nav freezes every so often and once the screen developed waves... hast don it since.

It attracts muck like a magnet... the colour is gorgeous but it really picks up the muck.

... somethings wrong there. Was the M3 towing a caravan?

Maybe you are the Stig and your mate is Captain Slow.

I would expect a properly driven M3 would leave my car sitting.

His is a 2012 M3 and he wasn’t trying that hard and mine has a dtuk box on it so figures were fairly close in gear acceleration the golf beat him every time. He could get through corners quicker but once on the straight the torque just pulled him back in.

Get it mapped !

Tried but software was too new for carbon chip to read so bought a dtuk box instead, will try a remap in a few months but easily running mid 6s for 0-60 the one that has really amazed me so far is the shove of torque in fourth, fifth and sixth on the track yesterday 80-120mph was done in a blink of an eye.

The rest of it is stock for now but would like to know what others as done as not seen much available for the estate in terms of mods and don’t really want to make it look like an R clone.
