Press clutch to start.

I was asked yesterday if it could be coded out. Anyone know?
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

I think I spotted it as a tick box in vcds don't know if it works though.
Sorry I cannot check as I don't have a working laptop computer.

Yes, it can be coded out using VCDS.
Sorry, I don't knwo the exact location but I came across it when I last borrowed a cable to make some changes on mine.

Don't mind it on mine so left it as is.

Question is : Does it just get rid of the message? or does it let you start it without pressing the clutch?

Gone: Mk6 GTD, 5dr, Manual, Tornado Red, 18" Vancouvers, RCD510 + Dynaudio, heated seats.

The coding is at Byte 20, Bit 4. It looks as though it only removes the message. Haven't tried it myself, but may do just to see.

Just think it is an unnecessary message, you still have to depress the clutch for the car to start.

Might confuse anyone trying to steel it!!!! :grin:

It's not for me, it's a bloke I know who's car lives outside. It would save him getting in the car to start it to de-ice it in the morning. (not that we've had to do much of that this winter)
