I used the VW coil pack tool and it was very easy, get the plug off the coil pack was the more annoying bit.

Where did you get the tool from, anywhere in particular??

Just off Amazon, for hopefully all the use it will get no point buying a good tool. Always buy cheap tools then if you use it enough to break it look at better quality ones, no point having a snap-on philips screwdriver if you only use torx.

Thanks, the genuine T10530 tool is about £250, so looking at alternatives.

They all look the same on ebay and Amazon, just wouldnt mind investing a bit more in a decent one.

Bought some hose clamp pliers when i swapped an engine in a A1 TFSi recently and they were absolute garbage, they were fit for nothing after i'd finished, and not through misuse either.

Four new Asymmetric 6s fitted at Costco. Initial impressions on the drive home are they appear to be much quieter than the Bridgestones 👍
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.

I've been there myself, can't remember what it was mind but I remember throwing it straight in the bin.

There's not a lot of options for the ignition puller, it's not very high tech though so wouldn't worry about a cheap one. I'd offer to lend you mine but I'd say postage both ways would be 2/3's the cost of it.

Recently got a new toolbox so I'm trying to be wise and not immediately go fill it with new tools

If you're selling it soon, I'd not worry about getting too in-depth in brake discs new owner won't pay you anymore for it!

For heat shield fixings you mean these wee bad boys? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151220590066

And for an update for everyone regarding my coil pack replacement, my mpg went from 28mpg to 43mpg.

Yip, that’s the ones there cheers!

Any idea on windscreen washer jet?

Do you think should leave rear discs as is or put decent pagid or the likes on?

The (CM) prets are coming off and will be for sale separately with standard wheels going back on, bumper needs a paint due to paint peeling off in one section…VW not interested then will give a good detail and advertise!
