the game is awesome but nothing like cod, some maps are huuuuge but the onus is on teamwork and winning the round, the perks are all to do with kit, vehicle and weapons upgrades. air support you provide yourself by jumping in the jet or gunship and flying it yourself
it takes some getting used to if you've never played any battlefield but much more rewarding than cod. a good tip for noobs is to follow an experienced squad member around and just support him, so if he plays as engineer, you play as support or assault to provide ammo or medipacks, or vice versa.
you can use your cod skills in bf3 but running around trying to stab peeps or using a shottie on the big maps will get you nowhere and alot of deaths
capturing or defending a flag gets you most points, if nothing else remember that
