for all the gizmos and crap the put in the new car.. it would really be nice to see a stripped out version similar to the R.26.R.

No doubt it will cost more as expected from VW, but lets see if the GTI really is the daddy of handling also

In today's difficult, private market, I'd say approx £23k for a 3-door base GiT

Mk6 GiT since birth in 2010

£23k? A price cut?

Don't be so silly!!!!

At the very best it'll be the same price and they'll market that as "Great Value" or some such VW crap.

Agreed, I think it will be the same price as the MK6 when it comes out.

Prices for ALL makes have moved up and on so people who think because of the current climate prices will fall imo are mistaken VW are not going to price it lower than the competition especially with the current exchange rate. Were UK/Europe not USA and until people stop buying cars that will never change.
Mk6 GTI  &  Mk1 GTI
34 years of GTI ownership.

I'll see what price of the new Focus ST is, I think that's going to be great car.  I had recently thought about getting a used R or S3 but with less that a few years to go until they are replace, I'm holding onto mine for one more year then I'm outa here....
