Title: GTI Newbie!

After many years of admiring Golf GTI’s ( nearly bought a new Mk.2 16v more years ago than I care to remember), and actually ordered a Golf GTE in November, but frustrated by the eight month and growing lead time I was looking for an alternative. I persuaded my son to consider a new GTI rather than the Skoda Octavia VRS he was going to buy, and last weekend went out with him Peter Cooper Southampton’s GTI demonstrator which reminded me how brilliant the GTI is as a driver’s car and how weighed down the GTE is by the 200kg battery pack. No brainier decision, so I’m going back on Friday to change my GTE order to  a GTI 5dr 230bhp DSG and my son is ordering a 3dr GTI manual this weekend!
