Hi folks, I have a cracked pipe in my engine and need to order a new one, can anyone tell me what the pipe in the picture is called?

I have taped it up as best as I could, but I still think there is air escaping. The car is a GTI Tdi 150bhp incase it makes a difference.

if its just air its probably the intercooler pipe

I assume we are looking at the pipe with the red tape around it. That is the outlet of the intercooler into the EGR valve/inlet manifold. If that is leaking your car will be overfuelling, possibly with smoke and underperforming.

Do you know if that is a common problem?
The car is 4 yrs old so I suppose some wear and tear is to be expected.
Hopefully I will get to see the full poer once it's replaced.
Thanks for your replys.
