Where is the best place to get a decent thermostat for my mk4 as don't really wanna get a cheap knock off one from eBay

Dealership is actually relatively well priced for this.  Something like £24 which although not cheap in comparison to GSF/ECP, you know you'll be ok with regard to quality.  I got 2 from ECP and both were defective on receipt.  Check them in a pot of water on the hop and bring it to the boil first to check its operation.

Think I'm going to try to do it myself which is suicidal as I'm useless aha. Is it easy? Any help videos around. It's a mk4 1.6 16V.

Personally I would find baking a cake harder than changing the thermo  :grin:

Having a magnet is handy incase you drop one of the housing bolts on top of the steering pump.
