In some parts of the world 'normal' unleaded is more like 91 Ron.  Premium is 95 Ron in the UK, Super is 97+ Ron

So normal UK unleaded is fine? I’m not paying 10p / litre extra unless I absolutely have too.

Some parts of the world use a different method to calculate the octane level; 90 RON in the US is pretty much the same as ‘normal’ 95 RON unleaded in the UK. So there should be very little performance differences between 91 RON unleaded sold in some countries and unleaded rated at 95 RON in the UK.

Have you considered using your new found wrapping skills to wrap 100% of the rear spoiler - I think if you did that the lip spoiler would integrate better and overall give a stronger look

Honestly.... a GTI needs only (euro) 95 to make 245ps.

Other more exotic things need 98 to make more PS, but will run quite happily on 95 with less power achieved.

95 is not going to "break" your car.

Agreed that Euro 95 RON is ok, but the link to the US explanation of their octane rating is just an odd way of doing things, I thought RON was universal so could be compared across countries, creating their own 'MON' and then creating a third octane rating by averaging the two achieves what??

RON is important but for me it's the potential cleaning packages that should make a difference long term so I do use super for daily stop-start journeys but often use 95 for longer motorway runs.

The other thing as well, if you are keeping your car for 3 or 4 years, its unlikely any detegent will make much difference and certainly won't make any difference not doing it vs any potential warranty claims.

Not in the UK anyway - no fuel you can buy in the UK is going to be so poor that its going to cause a problem.

Other places, maybe long term might cause you a problem.
