Coolant leak
« on: 20 June 2012, 19:50 »
Hi dudes

Topped the car up with coolant the other day as the temp light was flashing. Literally 24 hrs later and the light was on again. I inspected the reservoir at it was empty. Had the day off work today so filled the expansion tank up with water and have discovered there is a leak coming from underneath the alternator at the bottom of the fan belt. Is this my water pump?? Is it common for them to leak when they are on the way out???

Help!!

Ordering from Eurocarparts mate. Going to utilise  the 25% discount and would prefer to get new tbh

Really appreciate the thought though

The one I have sitting around was in the car for only 2 weeks ;)

Scrapped it cos it needed new shocks and coils (as well as registering it in the UK) and I found another Mk3 estate in good shape.
