Hello, the last time I tried a MK7 was in 2013, trying one of the launch cars.

Will I notice much apart from the cosmetic things in a 2017 7.5 230PS car?

The important things look identical, seat, steering wheel etc
Now = 2011 MK6 GTI - Reflex Silver
Past = 2006 MK5 GTI - Tornado Red and Solid Black

The techie bits and cosmetics you know about, the only other things of note were a bit of cost cutting here and there which was mostly bits of plastic omitted from spec such as under seat drawers, door mirror screw trims and bits of engine cover etc.
Other than that there were around 4 years of development by the time the 7.5 was launched which can only be a good thing.

Thanks, I assume a June 2017 model will have dual injection and no GPF?

But overall the actual driving experience between 2013 and 2017 will be virtually identical?

Yes, pre-GPF and drive wise it’ll be much the same as the early mk7’s, although if you drove a launch car with minimal miles you can expect a 7 year old car to have lost that new car tightness.

I strangely find myself looking at Touaregs, X5s and XC60s a lot lately.

No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Just no.

You say that until I say I caught my sump pan, mudflap and lower front bumper driving over crane tracks, thankfully no damage but did have to dig it out.

Hello again, I am looking at both cloth and leather interior cars, how is everyone's perforated leather holding up in the MK7.5?

Any signs of "baginess"?

I found this 7.0 example with 120,000 miles and the seats look OK https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202108176348793

I've been monitoring the value of my 7.5 GTI closely on Motorway over the past month or so as I'm going to be looking to trade it in once my 8.5 arrives. I checked this morning and the price of it has risen by almost £200, this is the second time it has risen over the past couple of weeks which is interesting! It's very low mileage (16,000) and I'm the second owner. I think once the price increases happen towards the end of the year for the 8.5, the 7.5 used prices could rise further.

Please do drop me a PM with details of your 7.5, assuming it's a 5-door DSG model.

So just coming back to this thread that I started a couple of months ago - this morning I returned to my local main dealer (to drop my wife's car off who is having her Mk 7 Golf serviced today) and again the forecourt out front was pretty bare with just Tiguans and a few Polos - I couldn't see any Golfs at all on the forecourt at first glance until I saw there on the front row at the end a 2012 (2012!!) Mk 6 Golf R (looking pretty tired to be fair).  The only Golf they have up for sale is 12 years old (!)
