Oil light flashes when car starts

Hey everyone this is my first post! Just wondered if you could help me out.


When i start up my 1.6 the oil light flashes about 3 or 4 times, I have read the other comments on other threads although this is different becasue when it is driving the oil light stops flashing.

I have checked my oil levels and they are fine.


Any suggestions, thanks for reading this.

It's doing what it's supposed to. It flashes a few times when you start the car so you know the lamp is working.

Mine doesn't flash. The light comes on at the first stage of ignition, but then goes out once the car has started.

Yeh, when I first got the car it didnt flash like it does now. It would only light up and then go out, but now it flashes like i said about 3-4 times before going out?

well if it's not loosing oil/knocking or driving crap I would either ingore it (like I do with my sticker caliper  ) or replace the switch...
