I'd say it is as quick, it just doesn't "feel" it.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

I would agree that's a fair statement, you just need to work the CR equipped cars harder to achieve the same levels of performance.

Took the gtd out for a good run 2day and down a stretch of road I drove everyday in my mk5 & the gtd just isn't as quick.love the look of the car & it's nice to drive, just not liking the cr engine.

The CR 170s just don't have that big torque spike that the PDs have, I've found.

They sound a bit better, rev a little higher and seem a bit better on fuel...but they just don't have the torque delivery of the old PD.

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.

What your not liking is the lack of balls at higher revs at a guess?

I'm sure Doc could sort your problem out with his made to measure maps, its worth the drive to Manchester and you'll love the drive home :smug: :smug:

Did you test drive GTD before buying ?

A remap will most definitely liven things up but you'll never quite get the kick of the PD engines  :undecided:

I'll be sticking with my old skool PD engine for a while yet much to The Docs disgust

Don't say this guys.

I'v been wanting a GTD since their launch, have planned one for my next car. Love the grunt and torque of my PD at the mo...I hope I don't remember this thread in the morning  :lipsrsealed:
