Golf mk8 / Re: Gas bonnet strut anyone?
« Last post by SRGTD on Today at 08:43 »
Whilst the gas bonnet strut is nice to have, I’d happily forego it for a set of IQ lights .

My Polo GTI+ has a manual bonnet prop. I open my bonnet each time I wash the car to dry those concealed areas that can’t be dried with the bonnet closed, and for regular under bonnet fluid level checking. So it probably gets opened every couple of weeks, and I don’t really find it to be a hardship to have to use the manual prop.

I don't understand the hysteria about the bonnet strut...

Totally agree.
I've raised the bonnet maybe twice in five months of ownership and using the manual strut is no big deal.

Whilst on the one hand it might seem like penny pinching, on the other you get features such as the brilliant IQ Lights as standard. I know which I'd rather have

Hmmmmm. Tough one that. A part that I could fit for £90 if I want or some ultra expensive IQ lights as standard. I’m going to have to come back to you on this one. It’s a close call.

Curious to see if there is any update on this topic?

I think @fredgroves answered the OP’s question in reply #3 of this discussion thread.

Can the wireless charging be turned off? I’m assuming if you put the phone in screen down this would have the same affect?
I have a Samsung S21 Umtra with cover.  Big phone, fits perfectly.
Thats great. Was thinking of a phone this size (mi 11) with a slim case so it should work fine. Would have really annoyed me if it didn’t fit.

Golf mk7 / Re: Replacing Front/Rear Tyres MK7 GTI PP

Hi guys,

Just a quick update on this, I've sold my current PZeros on the car to a neighbour of mine (for a good price who also has a GTI :-) ) so....... I'm just going replace all four tyres with new PS4S.

I hope they are a step up from the Pirellis. I did find them a bit lacking in the damp conditions.

Thanks for all the advice, much appreciated.

Golf mk6 / Hot start issue - revs drop and engine cuts out
« Last post by MA1694 on 17 September 2021, 22:19 »
I’ve had this a few times before now but today it’s been frequent. When engine is still warm say 30 mins to an hour after parking up, when turning the car on the revs splutter and drop before engine cuts out. If I blip the throttle it’s fine. Sometimes it’ll do this 2 or 3 times in succession and sometimes the second start up is fine. Engine light doesn’t come on and car otherwise drives fine. I’ve had spark plugs and fuel filter replaced a few months ago. I haven’t managed to record the problem yet but here’s a youtube link to what I am experiencing

https://youtu.be/mJNRagRh6_M

Any thoughts please?
