What have you done to your MK 7 today ?

So all in all, major service and MOT done, spark plugs changed, brake fluid etc. I told the guy on the phone that I thought it was a lot of money when he explained everything. When I turned up to pay, he took away the charge for the brake fluid change, which was kind. MOT has raised advisories as the brakes all round. Guess that's what I'm saving up for next year!

Well at least you know it was cheaper than VW and they didn't take the arm out of you. That being said £92 for spark plugs!?  Maybe he changed the ignition coils

Platinum plugs are about 18 quid a pop, but hey they last 40k.

This arrived today from Royal Steering Wheels, slightly thicker, perforated sides, smooth top and bottom and red stitch. I'll get it whacked on later.

And it's now fitted, after only one small mistake of pins falling out of the downshift paddle, but they're back in and working. No problem Ceefeesh happy to help!

Is it easy to remove a steering wheel? And easy to get back on? I'm considering getting my Edition 45 wheel retrimmed in Alcantara like my Edition 40 was and would like to know how easy it is. I'm the sort that needs to make sure it goes back on as per factory, torque of bolts etc.

Very easy, the mk7 actually only takes long because I had to remove the silver gti trim and put it on the new wheel. Just make sure you have a spline kit and a short flat screwdriver set and you’ll be fine.

Depending on where you’re from Royal Steering Wheels will swap it over for you if you’re not confident in doing it yourself.
