BCM Upgrade
« on: 17 November 2021, 20:02 »
Hi

just enquiring about a potential upgraded Highline BCM to connect my heated seats and possibly the ambient lighting too ?

My current BCM Medium, this is indicated when clicking on VCDS cent elec module screen.

5Q0937084 DB
BCM MQBAB M H38 0273

the one being offered has folliwing no’s on housing.

5Q0937084 DF
BCM PQ37 H 0312

Do the latter four numbers beginning with BCM indicate software type ?
Can this BCM be coded to my car ?
It’s off a similar engine spec and age car ?

The last 4 numbers are the software version - 0283 and 0312. I believe you can programme the update to be accepted using vcds but not sure how it is done. Never had to do this when changing modules in a car. Do a search on the Ross tech website and send them the query. Look up software version management.

Mk6 GTI Carbon Grey, 2010 Bluetooth and voice fitted, a few VCDS mods still a comfortable family car. Red Scirocco 2011 twin charger stage 1 - enjoyable drive now gone.  White 2016 Polo GTI (roller skate on steroids) replaced with an Indium Grey 2019 7.5 GTI PP.
