I am looking to buy an new wheel brush for cleaning the dish or inside of the wheel, but i am looking for one without the exposed metal core? Any suggestions?

Yes, wheel woolies rule
I've tried both, including the EZ Detail brush (which has the metal core). It was ok but the metal rod can scrape against the brake discs making a horrible sound, so I switched to wheel woolies, which are excellent.

EZ brush is very good and get's into tight areas like between the caliper and wheel. Quality is great, simple to maintain and they last.
