Washing drying towels, microfibers and wash mitts.
« on: 18 February 2024, 22:31 »
Most times I wash the cars I wack the wash mitts, drying towels and any microfiber cloths in the washing machine with a small dose of washing liquid, and run them through twice on a 30 degree cycle. Today I applied gyeon quick glass to the windows and wiped off with a damp microfiber as I had a few extra items I washed the mitts together once, all the towels, microfibers etc once and then everything together once. Having removed everything I notice that the drying towels now smell strongly of the glass sealant and I'm wondering if they're now nicely hydrophobic... What do other people do when washing their car washing paraphernalia?

Always use non-bio liquid when washing your gear.

You can if you want to buy deadicated cleaning solutions for this job but I have always found that using non-bio works just the same.

If you want to remove products from your cloths like what you have discribed, you will need to wash on a hotter wash.

Yeah, ideally, yoiu don't want to normally wash above 20c if you can help it.
Always leave them to air dry too.
