well lads n ladies here it is
mk1 1.3 i no it aint a lot but here goes
Heres a few piccies of the jobs dun so far and how dubs looking.
1. Strip out all of the interior
2.take off the bumpers
3.start 2 find all the rust spots and mark them
4.begin the tedious step of removing the rust
5.filled in the beading along the length of the car
6.skimmed the filler after sanding
7.sand back with wet and dry.

8.boot had rear wiper removed and plate welding in place
9.badge holes had been spotwelded and smoothed over with skimmer
10. primer added after whole area had been blocked back with 80 grade
and smoothed with a random orbit sander

11.take engine block apart and give head 2 mate 2 have it skimmed and rebuilt
12.set up timing after having head back from mate
13.taken out all of the windows ready 4 spraying
14.began 2 orbit sand the rest of the car
15.took ages 2 fit all engine back.
16.fitting k & n bolt on filter
17.bought zorst and wheels, dropped 60mm

but.............

now im bored of my lil 1.3 and was gonna put a synrco engine on twin 40s in her !but i cant source the engine nemore! i have 200 quid for an engine and box and am after suggestions pls :D
Mk3 Golf Gti:Full Milltek system and Decat,K&N filter,mk2 Cam,-1.5 degree camber shims, borbet a's, toyo proxies,hot tuning coils, brembo vented discs, greenstuff pads...Soon to have Eaton Power

mk3 16v 5dr Gti,mintex extreme pads,drilled/grooved discs,lowered,cat back powerflow system,omp panel filter with modified airbox,debadged grill, started prep for spraying, lots to come :D

Looks nice mate. Keep it going. How about putting a 16v engine in. Cheap as chips and good performance. Power weight ratio and all that. ;)

i reckon theres enuff peeps on this forum would love to get there hands on a project like that! me included  8)

ye i dnt no 2 much about engines! what would i need 2 drop a 16v mk2 gti engine in her? how much does that engine go 4?ne1 no where i can source 1 lol

There are loads about. Try ebay for a start. golfVR6 is the man to ask. He knows more than me on the mechanical side. I believe it should drop straight in. Danhoch has a 16v in his Cabvan.

j a m e s is selling his engine for a fair price, 16valve too :D
