As long as you BRAKE when you approach junctions, NOT keep your foot to the floor on the gas

No harm done........its stops well too

It doesn't stop that well, just the mk1/cab brakes.. well might as well not bother.
The vr will stop even better if can get those old rear brakes discs off

Agreed........it stopped a lot better than my cab would have done.....but my Audi with its new rear discs and pads......coh! what a difference that has made.......that caliper must have been jamming up for a while, seems to go like a rocket now, and since we drove each others cars the other day........I've been using the manual ever since, much more fun, getting used to it too

I'm pleased for you Vix, there's nothing quite like having the old roof down and cruising. The weekends supposed to be a cracker, enjoy !
