After some thought while being stuck at a train station I wanted something else, cheaper in the long run.  I have always liked diesels and how they pull, and still return goot MPG. Started to look online on the wednesday and bought one by the thursday.

It is a GT TDI 130 PD - Silver - 5 door - FVWSH. Took a mate with me who works at VW to have a gander round. I noticed that there were little bits of plastic in the header tank. Spoke to the garrage and they agreed to change the water pump and new cam belt for free. RESULT.

I have some good plans for this one, keeping it OEM+.

Whats Been Done-

How it started-
Don't think it will stay standard for long
Been on a spending rempage,

Beetle Sports Pins
Sharan Rear Badge
TT Pedals

All should be put in by the end of the week.

Remap tomorrow

Roll on R-Tech!

EDIT- 1 week later
Rite, a week has passed and Its amazing. It totally transforms the car. To say it pulls is an understatement! Even in the dry the wheels spin in 2nd when you put your foot down when not booting it in 1st. I have seen a vast improvement in the mpg return, this due to the engine being able to pull harder meaning less stress placed on the engine(?) 3rd gear in the mk4 is tooo long and it doesn't seam to pull as well as it should but after the remap it was totally different, it doesn't want to stop!  Clutch is holding in there but I don't think my tyres will.

After the remap I decided to put most of the money from the sale of them mk3 (1700 of it) into this. Alot will change very soon. Watch this space.

Also bought an Allard EGR delete, Euro lights and looking to buy a NewSouth indigo boost gauge.

Update - 09/10/09

Well had it RR'ed pleased with the power but one problem is the torque, either a boost leak or sticking veins. Been told it should have made 180-185bhp without the spikes.

Fitted euro rear lights. Havn't seen many silver golfs with them so thought I might as well give it a go.

Well spent a fair whack of monies on Tuesday. R-Tech were doing a good deal on a clutch so I couldn't pass on it. My clutch was fine but I wanted piece of mind it was going to last so had my car booked in to them. In all I got::

-Turbo Back decat
-EGR Delete
-Turbo cleaner
-Uprated clutch
-Panel filter as the old one was manky

Only had one picture as my phone died. Nick took a few just need to find where he has put them.

Fitted my SFS hose, I thought it went well....Did it fcuk! Noticed it was a little down on power and smoked alot more.

Got the bumper off and looked, saw this -

  I have no idea how that pipe stayed on! You could see into the pipe, that's how bad it was.

Then......I went to take my SFS pipe off to see it has been damaged on something. Its missing a chunk of the pipe?! no hole glad the pipe is quite thick. I have looked and could only see the brake fluid reservoir cap?

Bad picture but you get the idea -

After Rhyso had a problem with his intercooler I decided to have a look at mine. All looks okay, filthy thought so gave it a good clean. Drying now.

NewSouth Boost Gauge

It was so easy to fit. Took all of an hour.

Looks OEM which is what I was going for. I did originally have the A pillar mount on order but that wasn't to my liking. So got the Steering column mount. Bad picture atm.

Coilovers Fitted - Weitec GT

I was fed up with the standard ride hight so I decided to bite the bullet and buy some coilovers. After having cheap Hottunning I wasn't going to make that mistake again. Took a few pictures on my iPhone so they didn't come out too amazing. Didn't replace the ARB but used adjustable drop links with the locking nut removed so it clears the driveshaft. Doesn't rub :afro: result

Up she goes-

Recaros -

Got it lower just need to clean her up and take some snaps.

Bit of an interior update, mate helped me fit my recaros. To say they were cheap is an understatment  couldn't say no to the offer.

R32 Steering Wheel

Well since RHYSO was selling his Golf he sold me some of the bits one included his R32 wheel that he got from new only a year or so before hand. Overall I didn't see a problem with the standard one but wanted something different. After the long drive home I was amazed how much better and solid it felt. So much chunkier and comfortable to handle.

Again from Rhyso. They are perfect. Just been refurbed and some very very good rubber on them. I love them

GodSpeed Uprated SMIC

I heard from over the water on UKMKIVs that a 1.8T IC will fit on a TDI so I set to get one and try, and It paid off big time. Paid £99.99 for the intercooler. It is very well made, quite heavy as well. The welds are good and its hard to impress me on welding.

Had to use a SFS bayonet connector that I had spare on the pancake pipe, then cut some 60mm silicone and married them up nicely.
