OK, these spacers are 10mm and for a Golf MK3 but have 4 holes?! Surely the GTI Golf MK3 wheels have 5 holes for studs? Confused of Peckham:

4 stud is non gti mk3. Gti and vr6 and 5 stud.

OK something's not right dude because I've opened the link you posted and the spacers say 20mm not 10mm and have 4 holes drilled in them not 5. Just saying.

its a 20mm system, which is a 10mm spacer each side. (20mm across the whole axle) and the picture is just a generic picture they use, if you look in the description it says 5/100 :) and when i was doing the search i put 5/100

DO NOT!

I repeat - DO NOT put 45 profile tryes on 17 inch wheels for a Mk3!!!!!

The correct profile is 40.

My 17's certainly do not look big on my car! Wayne's opion is wrong as usual.
However I do say that 17 x 40's do give a little harshness on the ride quality front. But then I do have the stiffness of my dampers wound right up!

i would of thought 16s, surely 17s and definitely 18s would start ruining the cars handling

My mate has some Audi 17s on his mk3 and it handled better then mine does on 16s but i guess that's probably because he has a new poly bushed front anti roll bar.

Well the problem is that no matter how low you have it, they look big also ride is crap and they tend to tramline badly, given the choice 16's is the best set up for a mk3, I know this as I had 17"s
