Best size alloys for a MK3 16v, 16" or 17"?

i would agree with wayne. cant see how 17s would handle better than 15/16s on such a small car. the cars about the same size as my clio and they are horrendous on 17s.

DO NOT!

I repeat - DO NOT put 45 profile tryes on 17 inch wheels for a Mk3!!!!!

The correct profile is 40.


My 17's certainly do not look big on my car! Wayne's opion is wrong as usual.
However I do say that 17 x 40's do give a little harshness on the ride quality front. But then I do have the stiffness of my dampers wound right up!

How the f**k can anyone's opinion be wrong?

As said. You dont want 205/45-17 as said. Rolling radius would be well out and would probably rub constantly.

195/40-16 is an option for 16" too. people also go for 40 profile too for extra clearance too, but that would affect ride and are probably a bit small for the heavier engined mk3's

whats all this jibba jabba about 17's on mk3's they fit perfectly on standard suspension and look nice on 40mm back and 45mm front drop with no arch mods they dont look to big and they look the tits! if you roll the arch's and pull them then you can get a nice drop  i pitty the fool who dosn't accept this  happy new year

Yes 17s fit fine. but as said. 45s dont work. i found out the hard way.... ruined my rear tyres. but 40s work perfectly... harsh as f**k on coilies thou... tbh it is sh.it as feck as a daiy
