Always promised myself an RS3, never got round to it and probably never will. Would be interested to hear your thoughts on it after delivery

Swapped my S3s factory fit Potenzas (sh!te) for Goodyear Asy6 and was mildly disappointed. They weren't head and shoulders better than the Potenzas. I always go for Michelins and wish I had this time!

Sacrilegious post incoming. It's been a while as I joined the dark side in getting an Audi S3 just over 2 years ago, for a number of reasons:
Ridiculous waiting times on the Golf
Not keen on Mk8's nose
Software seemed flakier on VW platfor compared to Audi
More physical buttons (steering wheel and climate controls)

Well I've just chopped it in for an Audi RS3, with the wife's blessing. Just to give you all the heads up that there's some canny deals out there right now and some new/unallocated stock coming through if you fancy it. By far the most I've ever paid for a car, but residuals look great and my car is £8170 less than its £65415 list price. Good standard spec (for an Audi), great spec with the Tech Pro pack added. Good indicated residuals make it reasonably priced Vs List. I'm going to clear finance as soon as I pick it up to get deposit contribution (which will completely skint me), but the terms I went with was £15k down, giving £500pm for 4 years, with a GFV of about £34k.

Getting it next Saturday. S3 value held up well - £43.5k RRP, paid £38k new, sold for £31k at 26 months old via Carwow.

Record lap onboard.

And of course, there was no way it was going to complete a full lap without at least one bong! 🤪

Used to be quite active on here till 2007 went through various MK1 & MK2s (16vs only) and a Corrado back in the day.

Mainly been in company cars when I worked for Renault, Kia, SEAT & Skoda.

When I stopped selling cars had Minis JCW Clubman and a Coopers S Cab

Well next week I will be back in a Golf, specifically a 72 plate MK8 Clubsport in Dolphin Grey which seems quite apt as my first golf was 89 Atlas Grey 16v.

So much potential, so much disappointment.

No disappointment at all, as there were no expectations. Typical VW stuff over the last years.

Add some decals, make richer standard equipment, add a couple of horsepower (if any). that's it.

They don't like..okay..they HATE to add something new to the production line

Fastest production golf round the ring?

And most expensive no doubt...

I'd said I'd love an ED50 as the last ED they are likely to make but... no. Its going to be something like £47k I'll bet...
@Fredgroves Yes I think you’re right but perhaps if there is an optional performance pack then maybe base price will be a little lower. (Ok I’m probably dreaming).

@Joegti, yes I spotted the seat fabric and it looks like grey tartan pattern on side bolsters with a different pattern on seat backs. No doubt “50” must feature somewhere on the seats.

Certainly got time to save up if not out till next year.

Andy

The seats appear to have a different fabric, looks like a mixture of tartan or something like what the CS 40 buckets had.

You missed the red seat belts 😉 👍

I can’t believe I missed those on my first look at video.

Is an OBD port lock worth it I wonder?

this one looks good, but pricey

Key scanned (I know the key should have been in a faraday pouch ) they then proceeding to saw the steering lock off for 4 minutes sat on my drive at 3am the last Bank Holiday Monday we had a few weeks back, the absolute balls on them is unreal!

I'm having post fitted on the drive and a ghost on the next one!

The Mk7 is also vulnerable to OBD port attacks to create new keys...
