Propshaft wont be a problem mate, you can get them made up quite easily!

Main problem will be getting the drive back around 90 degrees!
Might be easier to turn the engine around and find a gearbox that fits!

Basically if you really want to do something, it can be done!

Like the kit car boys do with zetec engines and Mx75 (i think) gear boxes out of the sierra?

Well a Golf engine is transverse, that means its axis is across the car.
If you want to drive the rear wheels via a propshaft the drive which normally goes across the car will need to be turned 90 degress to go to a back axle.
Or you can turn the engine 90 degrees!

That was then, the rules have changed, any changes to a shell means the car will need an iva test, if you don't believe me speak to DH.

You don't see shell changes any more. The only ones I've seen recently are big companies doing cosworth swaps in fiesta's and focus's to show off their skills.
