AS SOME OF YOU GUYS ALREADY KNOW I AM PREPARING MY GOLF VR6 MK3 FOR TRACK USE !

TO DATE I HAVE STRIPPED OUT THE WHOLE INTERIOR BACK TO THE METAL (SURPRISING HOW MUCH THE CARPET AND UNDERLAY WEIGHS)

IVE ALSO COMPLETELY TAKEN OUT THE DASH, JUST NEED TO CUT OUT ANY WIRES THEY ARE NOT NEEDED.

TODAY I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A FULL SET OF POLYCARBONATE WINDOWS, SHOULD BE WITH ME BY THE 6TH OR 7TH  SO LOOKING FORWARD TO STRIPING OUT MORE WEIGHT FROM ALL THE DOORS IE WINDOW MECHS AND MOTORS (THEY WILL BE FOR SALE IN THE CLASSIFIED SECTION AS SOON AS.

DOES A MK2 ROLL CAGE FIT A MK3 ?

ANY INFO OR ADVISE TO SET UP MY VR6 FOR THE TRACK WOULD BE GREAT !

IVE ADDED A FEW PICS AND WILL TRY AND DOCUMENT AND KEEP PICS OF THE PROJECT

i need anger management as i dont take advise well ......

Good point as I'm not sure where to read or post, certainly not going too try and keep up with all of them... I struggle as it with the main cars in dub rides at times....  Can I suggest you start a dub rides thread as you will be certain to get an audience there and lots of positive feedback.

I can't help much on a track car setup but am curious what your plans are for the front seats, what are you thinking of putting in there?

if you have two mk3 vr6 golfs both standard but one of them has had weight taken out of it and now weighs exactly half of what the other does, how is the bhp then worked out ? does it then mean in reality the lightened car is now double the bhp of the completly standard vr6 when its driving on the road/track ? and not on the rollers ! if they were both put on the rollers they would both be approx 175bhp  if they were put on the road what and how do you work out the bhp ?

They both have exactly the same BHP.

The white wheels add 30BHP as the other guy with white wheels proved though.

The stripped out VR would have a better BHP per tonne, so would be quicker but I'm sure it would be far more nose heavy now.

Where all my moneys went.

Golf MK3 1.6. Golf MK3 8v GTI.

i have a question !!!! if you have two mk3 vr6 golfs both standard but one of them has had weight taken out of it and now weighs exactly half of what the other does, how is the bhp then worked out ? does it then mean in reality the lightened car is now double the bhp of the completly standard vr6 when its driving on the road/track ? and not on the rollers ! if they were both put on the rollers they would both be approx 175bhp  if they were put on the road what and how do you work out the bhp ?

Power would be exactly the same regardless of weight.

However the power to weight ratio of the stipped out car would be better, meaning it would be slightly faster, but definately not more powerful  :lipsrsealed:
