« on: 15 March 2024, 09:43 »
I am in the market for a MK7.5 Performance DSG. Can someone please post the service schedule so I will be able to check any car has been properly maintained.
Also how long do water pumps & clutch last etc etc

This is the best  service schedule I’ve come access..

Leaking Water pump and thermostat housing is probably the most commonly reported fault on these cars, you can probably expect to do this at some point.

Standard clutch is also reported to be weak, obviously depends how the car is driven

I understand the clutch(es) on the DSG are pretty hard wearing?

Not sure about the DSG, Adam.
I’ve seen comments on here about the clutch on the manual- described as “ chocolate “
Mine has been fine so far- at 30k miles

Just noted OP in market for a DSG, so ignore what I said about the clutch!

Thanks for that - a very useful site.
Prices are all over the place atm. some private sellers are asking the same as trade outlets.

Adam. I have a well maintained Mk7 66k DSg last DSG oil change 40 k. Box has failed therefore 5k just for a reconditioned box plus vat plus fitting. Water pumps also a weak point in excess of 900 to fix as it involves a lot of dismantling of the engine.
I'll let you decide fine if it's warrantied but don't buy one without

80,000 for the 7.5 7spd DSG service, but maybe do it 60-70,000 mark to be ahead of the game.

Clutch packs, depends how you drive.

Water pumps, you only hear of those that fail, not those that are 100,000 plus like a friend has on his .

Think we should nominate your friend the 'rocking horse sh!t trophy,' for their water pump not failing. Every dealer /independent will tell you this is a very common repair. More common than not. Happy to be corrected
