Yeah I suppose I have got a story. Got my mk1 GTI in January this year, and the only problem has been a fuel pump relay switch costing me about ?15 from GSF.
My 4-Motion on the other hand bought in March, has cost me a small fortune:
Clutch Pedal snapped
Both cooling fans blew up
Electric window fell through the door!! (dodgy mechanism)
2 punctures
+ standard Stealership servicing & MOT costs
So I could have bought another Mark 1 for the repairs I've shelled out on the Mk4 this year.
Hence the negative attitude towards Mk4's!!
