Fitting 'Passat' Pretoria Alloys to a Golf

I've seen these Passat spec Pret's on eBay:

I currently have Brescia's and would like to swap over the 225 profile tyres - this throws up a few questions:

- Are these forged, like the Golf R version, or cast?
- Will the 225 tyres be wide enough for 8J rims? I don't want any stretch/zero rim protection
- The Pret's are ET44 compared with Brescia's ET51. Will this create any issues at all?
- Will the bolts and centre caps from my Brescia's fit?

Highly unlikely to be forged at £330 per wheel. Genuine 19” Golf Prets are £800+ per wheel.

The calculator at www.willtheyfit.com will calculate the critical measurements for you if you input the details of your existing and new wheel/tyre set up.

The eBay ad states that hubs are included. I’m assuming the reference to hubs should be centre caps. As for bolts; usually if fitting a replacement set of OEM wheels, you are able to use your existing wheel bolts.

About 2.5kg per corner heavier than the Golf R Prets. They will sit further out than a set of Brescia's both due to the width and the lower offset. 225 tyres should fit ok, but do bear in mind that not only will you get a bit less rim protection than with 7.5j wheels, but the lower offset also means your wheels will be that bit closer to the kerb than before.

They'll stick out 13mm wider than your current ones? That doesn't mean they'll stick out past the arches.

These aren't replica's. They're genuine VW from the Passat.

But we've already established they're not the same as the Golf ones. At the price, they'll be cast, so why not get some he/she is happy with the fit of?

Yes, agree as long as they're happy with replicas. The CM's do seem to be well liked by those that have had them. However there is only 1mm difference in offset between the 19 inch CM replicas and the genuine Passat version so the main reason to go for the CM's over these is to save money, as the fit will be very similar.

Late to the party here but ET44 on an 8J wheel sit pretty perfectly on a mk7(.5)
225 tyres do fit just fine on 8” wide wheels but have about 5mm less kerb protection.
I have a low down shot of my 2013 GTI somewhere showing how 8x19 ET44 wheels sit in the arches.

Shame the Golfs didn’t come with ET44 wheels from the factory IMO.
Incidentally the T-Roc R wears similar dark grey ET44 Pretorias
