Car is totalled. Rolled it off the motorway on Wednesday 22nd August:
Back end kicked out under heavy braking and that was that. I was fine, apart from being stung by nettles.
Picked it up next day and got it to DevonDubShack:
Then we stripped it:
Then Saturday 25th I bought this:
Got it for £460. Roof has a couple rips, but doesn't leak and it drives fine. Was a CAT C back in 2002, but for the money it was a bargain. Came with new cheap coilovers, stainless exhaust catback system, 17" alloys. Everything works and inside is pretty tidy. Body work needs a little work but I wasn't bothered about that.
Conversion began Sunday:
How it was left that night. Arches all rolled out and sat on the borbets. Most things were swapped over, bay was cleaned up:
Monday we finished things up, front end, hosing, etc, etc. Boost gauge, CD player, cables, wiring.
Didn't get many pictures as we were busy and it was raining all day.
It still wasn't done, few niggly bits like swapping old fuel gauge sender over, getting clocks all working and warning bulbs. Sparco wheel on with working horn, tracking, etc. This was done on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th evenings
Then it was ready for Edition38 the next morning:
And it made it! Only issue was wipers, forgot to plug it in! Didn't need them this weekend anyway.
And so here it is sat at Edition38:
Plans are to fit central locking and electric windows and mirrors, and tidy up a few bits and fit my rear disc setup. In the long run, I'll be doing something with the bodywork to tidy it up and getting a new custom roof and getting my splits on there.
