Yep, I've finally managed to see the whole job through, without pulling out half way, and changed the little toe rag. I had kept starting and giving up due to the complexity of taking out the battery, with its many wires attached, six months after the bulb blew.
I just had to persevere with it and it all became quite straight forward as I proceeded with each step. Taking out the battery was a must, well for me and my fat hands it was.
