21, 3NCB, mk3 GTI 8v....

Hi guys and girls,
Not been on here long and been reading a few threads about the rip off prices people are getting, and to see whether anyone has any recommendations for me. Im 21 at the end of this month, have 3 years NCB and the only thing i have is 3 points for doing 5 mph over the limit, which I disputed as the sign wasnt viewable from the road specially at night. Obviously they wernt having any of it.
The car is a MK3 GTI 8v, i got a quote for £1296 online with admiral so rung them up and they say "o actually your points will fluctuate the price....its now £1800" Its mental. Doing online quotes half the companies wont even give me a price and the rest are like 2k+.
What annoys me even more my best mate is driving around in a 54 plate BMW 330i! and my other mate in a 200sx running 330bhp. Both same age as me, and neither pay more then £1400.

Someone help before i go mad.

Apparently it doesnt make a difference as the computor system recognizes that im nearly at that age....ridiculous.
