Title: picking up a mk3 gti ...... HELP!
Post by: -danisdubbin- on 16 February 2010, 15:09
hey guys, just wanted to see if anyone know's the answer to this question.....

im looking at buying a mk3 gti 16 valver right, i have the money for the car at the mo, but i can't insure it till summer (due to me not having space for it at uni atm and having no cash lol)

so was wondering, if me and my old man go 2 pick it up, could he get temporary insurance to drive it home, as i am on his company insurance for free so i can drive HIS car home!

i say cud he get insurance, bcoz i imagine it'll be a darn sight cheaper for my old man who is like 47 with loads of no claims etc etc than me 21, with no no-claims.

he's with directline at the mo, so what do ya reckon?? any experience/help is much appreciated

dan

Temporary insurance is just that, temporary. There's usually an age limit for getting it, so I'd imagine what you have in mind is a good idea. Your best bet is to call one of the temp cover specialists and get them to advise you.

I tried getting temporary insurance on my Mum's Scenic a few weeks ago to help out but her insurance company said no because I wasn't 25.
