Touran flip key

hi all, my mate just bought a touran & only has 1 flip key with it, he wants to get a spare 1. im looking on ebay for 1 but im not sure what mhz he needs for the key. vw quoted him over 200bills. anyone on here could help out?

Split the key (like you want to replace the battery) and there is a part number inside. Type that in to ebay and a replacement will (should) show up.

The expensive bit is finding someone with VAG-TACHO to code it correctly to the car.

sweet slick! thanks for that mate. seen a vid on youtube by ross tech (i think) on how to code a key.

There is a simple way to register them to the car to unlock the doors / roll down the windows, however linking the new key to the in built immobiliser will need VAG TACHO. Also make sure the key he buys comes with everything inside and it isn't just a housing.
