I put some winter wheels on... and then ordered some Eibach Pro springs to try and reduce that wheel arch gap.

Good choice of wheels lol. I think the arch gap probably appears bigger due to the offset of the wheels. You might need to do the front wheelarch screw mod as thee's a slim chance of rubbing over speedbumps etc. Dead easy to do though.

Thanks Gnasher, only 18s on mine but yeah I'm really happy with them. I've gone for the Eibach pro springs rather than sportlines to reduce the chance of rubbing but I'll def look into the wheelarch screw mod if it does rub - thanks for the tip!

I had a polo which was actually ok just not a golf GTi

That's one of the problems with VW. You take a half decent car in for a service and get something on the bottom rung on the VW ladder. Once got a bright yellow Beetle when I took a new Passat in for a service. Had the Passat for 5.5 years and in all the service/issues not think I once got anything similar or better. Was also a bog std Polo. They miss the opportunity to upsell IMO by putting customers in something a bit better or faster than the have.
To be fair if you're going in with a golf GTi to be upsold something it's only an R that would do it and I doubt any dealer will have Rs as service vehicles.

They have them as demonstrators though. I have been given a fully loaded CC in the past when mine has been in for a Service and most recently I was loaned a new R estate for a week away after I sold my R. To be fair they do tend to be someone like the sales manager or business manager cars but if you don’t ask you won’t get !

Can't see the photos but I love it anyway.

On another note, what do people use if they want black wheel weights? Do you buy them or just buy black paint and paint the weights?
