And Away we go... a little old so got the pics up and il walk it from the start

Back when i killed my 405 Mi16 Replica i bought this from a friend for £500 as you see it in the first pic (Minus all the bumper lights as these were missing)...

Ohh and i gave it a damn good clean as she was very neglected!
The spec was as follows:
 - 1.9 Turbo Diesel (Turbo was broken and all boost pipes missing :|)
 - 5dr
 - Manual (Keep Fit) Windows (Minus front passenger as it didnt work)
 - Central Locking
 - Rusty Arches, Crumpled front wing, Broken Mirror
errm thats about it really...

Me being me couldnt resist fixing it up so i went off to the local VW Breakers, bought the front lenses and parts to fix the window and turbo hoses.... so she was all clean and standard poverty spec Golf Diesel.

So anyway off i went and bought a new front wing, £10 in red as i couldnt get a Green one ANYWHERE! so it sparked a respray idea...

So, here goes... fitting of the new front wing...

Complete with ariel hole, a dent & some bird crap... Yumm!

Anyway whilst at the breaker i noticed a GTi Kit sitting in the corner and well the other half was sitting in the car waiting i decided to "sneak" it back :P at only £20 for all 4 arches, £40 for the skirts & £15 per bumper i thought ROCK ON :D Lets go... *(almost forgetting my wing!!!)* i set out to get it all sorted so here are some progress pics upto now...

Tackling Rust:

There was a damn lot of it too! Roof / all Arches / all Doors

Smoothed Wing:

Semi - Smoothed Bootlid:

Completely Smoothed :):

All Naked:

She was looking abit exposed and sorry looking at this stage so masking began...

And then a few coats of white primer / undercoat:

And then it started to pelt it down with rain... so away she went for 3 days :(

After re-assembily my headlights arrived, (£124 from eBay)

Since this... i broke my phone so no more pics atm but not alots changed as this is also my daily driver its currently all white and re-assembled with the GTi Kit fitted, front grille sprayed white (Along the bottom) and its now wearing a very nice skirt, :P The Burgandy VR6 Front bumper inc Genuine splitter £15!!! What a bargain...

Will update again shortly expect rapid progress as i had my license revolked today so onto the stripping over the next week i plan on getting it stripped to a rolling shell with all glass/interior/wiring out and the engine too if i can manage it and do a FULL body respray :)...

Ok soooo.... updates

After standing it the past 3/4 weeks heres an update on the bodywork,

All the rust that made a comeback has been cut out completely and replaced, filled, smoothed and re-primererd.

New parts so far...
 - Alesio Alloys (15")
 - Smoked / Chrystal Rear Lights
 - 40mm Lowering Springs (Until coilys arrive) ;)
 - Cobra Sidewinder Front Seats in Black & XXXXX Colour

Waiting for the next colour to arrive if i dont like it yellow she goes! lol

So anyway todays work:

VR6 Front bumper/Splitter :)

£15 What a bargain!!!

Alesio Alloys another bargain!!! - £40!!!

These will be resprayed with a silver dish, would have them polished but they've had too many past repairs.

Last of the rust battle...

And almost ready for paint (Tommorow if the sun is shining :))

Well the sun come out and allowed me to begin the hardcore work today,

i even enlisted the help of Chris (cwall22) this time (Shocking i know!)
And we managed to get the paint on the body :)

Now, It's a marmite colour you may or may not like it so if you do, rock on, if you dont, fair enuff keep it to yourself, The look is to be "New" and modern with the new bright colours, with the Old School Retro Black Trim, (Arches etc)

And here is what we got done today,
 - 2 Front Wings got there first coat of paint :)
 - Body got re-primered then wet/dry'd Flat
 - Body got 3 Nice Coats of paint :)

And our poor old spray gun bust! Damn so off to the suppliers to get a nice shiney new one :) We got the body finished. (Or ALMOST finished)

My only request, You hold judgment until its finished as the black will set off the yellow perfectly (Or i hope anyway!)

Pics:
Primer Now finished :)

Chris getting his boogie on with his "Consentric" Sircles! lol or swirly pattern in my opinion!

The all well known frustration time when the sun goes away for a few mins and things start to slow down!

And Voala! - First coat of paint down the n/s of the car

o/s :)

Close up of the paintwork :)
(Note that the paint job isnt flattened this is FRESH paint and the ripple will go when complete!)

Another impressive home repspray! Very nice, looks like you could quite comfortably drop a yellow colour concept interior in there!
