Going over 10,000 miles before service.
« on: 05 October 2014, 09:35 »
Hello guys,

As we all know on the service plan you're meant to get the car serviced at 10,000 miles or 1 year old, whichever comes first.

VW couldn't get my car booked in until 2 weeks away and so I might be at around 10100 miles.

Do you think VW would be funny with this and claim I haven't followed the service schedule? I know what they can be like.
Current - MK7 Golf GTI - Tornado Red, 5 Door, DSG, Performance Pack, Dynamic Chasis Control, Panoramic Sunroof, Discover Navigation, Dynaudio.

On Order - MK7 Golf R - Pearlescent Black, 3 Door, DSG, Vienna Leather, Discover Nav Pro, Rear View Camera, High Beam Assist, Keyless Entry, Dynaudio (Tech Pack)

All gone.

Now;

MK7 Golf R - Lapiz Blue, 5 Door, DSG, Carbon Nappa, Discover Nav Pro.

I don't think this would cause any issues - I would  still consider it to be within the servicing time window.  Mine was about 300 miles over because I needed a courtesy car.  Didn't think anything of it.
On Order: 02/05/13
GTD: Carbon Grey, Winter Pack, Keyless, High Beam Assist, Park Assist, Rear View Camera, Furry Dice
Collected: 06/11/13

You get 1,000 miles either way so don't worry. Mine was serviced at 10,100 miles with no issues.

If VW couldn't get your car booked in then it won't be a problem for you. If on the other hand you just didn't bother trying to book a service then they might say something.
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.

Savage, relax pal. I worried about the same issue when I was in your position a few years ago with my new Mk6 GiT.
Trust me, relax. I also took the 3 year service plan and now the extended MOT and service plan but they are relaxed with miles etc. From my experience, they will meet your needs as and when you bring it in............as long as you dont take the mick i.e. 6 months or 6k miles after the scheduled visit !

^^^^^^

I was thinking something along the same lines.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
