:undecided: on one hand the plate will no doubt help but on the other hand have you now not made the problem worse by making the sump even lower to the road.

theirs only 5mm more than standard

Could not have a full undercover plate for the reason you mention

The INA sump i like is taller than standard but stronger. mine is now the same but not as tall as the INA version... so we will see, only time will tell

My thoughts exactly and then some... As well as what's already been mentioned my problem is this:

5mm is a lot in your case, plus the thickness of the protruding welds that are now easier to catch in area's that weren't before now.

The sump plug is vulnerable

Looking at the new one surely this area has the exact same risk and is even more likely to be caught now.

Think the idea of the plate is to stop the sump from cracking/splitting, if.... sorry, when it bottoms out

Nooooo not at all, there is no point just saying how amazing it is if there are honest doubts on how effective this will be. The effort put into this is good and I hope for your sake it works but there is no denying that this is more likely to catch the ground over the standard one that's all. Yes it will be stronger but the extra strength appears to come at a price.  You may as well of raised the front by 5mm (which i know you don't want to do) which would have given 10mm more clearance than what you have now.

Yeah I get that. But it's more likely to catch now and if it catches on something nasty then I dread to think how it would react now the base is more rigid...  I just have a phobia of things catching the ground at speed.

A big problem in Leeds isn't it?... Although my experience on Sheffield roads is far worse.
